Newsletter 21 - 17 December 2020
We would like to thank everyone involved in Year 6 Graduation Ceremony on Tuesday. This was a fabulous event with the students, parents and staff being able farewell our Year 6 students in style. We would like to thank the P&C and other award donors for their generosity in enabling us to recognise the achievements of our students.
We would like to thank everyone in the school community for your support in 2020. It has certainly been a busy year for all of us at South Ballajura; a year like no other. We have adapted, adjusted to and accepted the challenges of a world-wide pandemic which has meant a very different year for us all.
Through it all it has been important not to look at this as a deficit but importantly it showed how great we are at making things work and that it is about how we approach challenges that will determine the outcome
As a group we are proud of the way the school community has faced challenges and overcome them to enjoy a fulfilling year.
We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the dedication and expertise everyone who has worked so hard to ensure the students have been provided with the best opportunities possible to thrive through the year and participate in the high quality experiences which have been made available to them.
We wish everyone well for the festive season and look forward to working together with you for the education of the students at South Ballajura in 2021.

Mrs D Clayden, has been co-ordinating the successful Campus Inclusive Playgroup as a volunteer, as well as being a dedicated relief & contract teacher for Ed Support. ESC CHRISTMAS CONCERT
What a special day! Our amazing group of Centre performers were outstanding at our end of year Xmas Concert. All students showcased their talents today and shone like superstars. All the rehearsals throughout the year came together in the most spectacular Christmas concert we have ever done.

GRADUATION
It was an unforgettable Tuesday morning when we celebrated the Year 6 Graduation Ceremony! Congratulations to the graduating classes and the students who received awards for your many efforts and achievements. The students continued to celebrate the day with their staff at a fun session at ‘Latitude’ and a great lunch at AQWA. Money was raised during the year for the graduation and it was worth it. Year 6 students were supported throughout the year by our dedicated staff, thank you. A special appreciation is extended to Ms Ngatia for the meticulous planning and organisation to make this day very special.
ESC TRANSITION
The ESC had their transition morning on Tuesday 8th December. It was a warm welcome for all of the new students for next year, as well as two new teachers, Ms R Earl and Ms N Clark. All of the students attended their 2021 classes, so that they could start to get to know the staff they will be working with, as well as complete some fun activities with their peers they will be sharing their learning journey with in the new year.
It was great to see some new faces in our classes, and meet and greet some new families joining our South Ballajura ESC community.
ESC WATER FUN DAY
The ESC Community Access Program for 2020 came to very soggy end. The students and staff indulged in water play activities Friday 4 December. A very common comment from the students during all the class sessions was, “Mrs Harney, this is fun!!”, and their smiles and squeals of laughter certainly demonstrated that.
