Kindergarten to Year 6 students with Special Educational Needs, including Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability and Autism, may be eligible to enrol at South Ballajura Education Support Centre.
All applications are subject to Eligibility approval by the Department of Education. The SBESC intake area is wider than local school boundaries, taking in surrounding suburbs. School Bus Services offer a limited bus service for students meeting criteria, and dependent on vacancies or may be able to offer a conveyance allowance.
Applications can be made on line at www.schoolbuses.wa.gov.au Enrolment enquiries may be made at any time by telephoning the SBESC office on (08) 9249 8912. We recommend making an appointment to visit and discuss your child’s particular needs and see what we can offer.
As well as Kindergarten to Year 6 Education Support Classes, limited places are available in our Specialist Education Department Early Intensive Intervention Program for selected Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students with Autism.
This program is based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and includes transition and preparation for full time Year One placement in their local primary school.
The first step in the enrolment process for all students is to complete a “Request for Enrolment in an Education Support Facility” form and provide diagnosis reports and eligibility documentation along with Birth Certificate and immunisation record.
Enquiries and visits in advance of school starting age are welcome, to assist parents in determining their child’s school options and in making an informed choice.
